Milk is a nutrient-rich drink linked to health. But the source of milk is better known is derived from cows, goats, or sheep. Not everyone is resistant to dairy milk. This condition is commonly called lactose intolerance. Lactose intolerance is different from milk allergy. This condition is caused because the body loses its ability to digest lactose. Common symptoms include bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, or fart, after drinking milk.
One alternative to substitute dairy milk is almond milk. Almond milk is made of almonds, the texture is a bit creamy and lighter so it can be directly consume, or used for cooking and baking. In one cup almond milk contained 60 calories, lower when compared with cow’s milk. Almond milk contains vitamin A and D, but protein and calcium are lower than cow’s milk. This milk also doesn’t contain cholesterol and saturated fats, so it is safe to consume at any time.
