Tamarind is a tropical plant cultivar which originated from India. The fruit is in the form of brown pods with a distinctive taste of acid that can be eaten and is often used as ingredients for cooking and concoction of drinks throughout the world. Inside the pods, in addition to the skin that covers the flesh of the fruit, there are also 2-5 seeds that are flat with a slightly blackish brown color.

Tamarind is rich in provitamin A, vitamin C, calcium, phosphorus, potassium and fiber minerals.
